As its name describes, it is almost entirely made of pure salt blocks extracted from the Uyuni Salt Flats. It is located at the base of the Thunupa Vulcan in the northern border of the Salt Flats. It has been built on a small hill, which allows a panoramic view of the Flats with its 12000 km².
